Just published a new book on A practical digital book that helps adults manage the first 72 hours after cosmetic or dermatology procedures with a simple recovery protocol. It teaches what to do, what to avoid, and how to judge whether redness, swelling, crusting, or heat is normal recovery or something that should be reported to the clinic.

Why your skin gets darker after procedures (and what to do about it)

You just spent good money on a chemical peel, laser treatment, or microneedling session. Your skin looks great for a week. Then the dark spots show up — sometimes worse than before.

This is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and it's one of the most common (and most preventable) side effects of cosmetic procedures. It happens when your skin's healing response triggers excess melanin production.

Here's what most people get wrong:

They skip the pre-treatment prep. Your skin needs to be primed before any procedure. The 2-3 weeks before matter just as much as the aftercare. Most clinics don't emphasise this enough.

They go back to their normal routine too fast. Your skin barrier is compromised post-procedure. That vitamin C serum you love? It might be too acidic right now. Timing matters.

They underestimate sun exposure. SPF 30 isn't enough post-procedure. And reapplying once a day doesn't cut it either. UV exposure during healing is the #1 trigger for dark marks.

I wrote the ClearSkin Post-Care guide because I was tired of seeing people spend hundreds on treatments only to end up with hyperpigmentation they didn't need to have. It covers exactly what to do before, during, and after procedures to keep your skin clear.

No fluff. Just a clear protocol you can follow.
