Most independent artists don't own what they think they own

Here's a hard truth: if you've never formally documented your song ownership, your splits, and your registration data in one place — you don't fully own your music in any practical sense.

You might have the copyright. But ownership without documentation is just a claim.

The pattern is always the same with independent artists and producers:

  • The beat is registered under one person's name

  • The lyrics were a co-write, but there's no written agreement

  • The master is on one streaming account, the publishing credit is somewhere else

  • No one knows the ISRC code offhand

When a sync placement comes, or a dispute happens, or a label comes knocking — everything falls apart. Not because the artist didn't work hard, but because the paperwork wasn't in order.

One registry. Every work. Every split. Every rights holder. Clean, documented, protected.

If you're building a catalog worth something, treat it like one.

Welcome to ClearTrack 👋

Hey, welcome — and congrats on making the right call.

Your music is your business. If you're not tracking your rights, someone else is making decisions about them without you.

Here's how to get started:

1. Register your works

Document every track — title, collaborators, ownership percentages, ISRC codes. Start with your latest release and work backwards.

2. Lock in your splits

Every co-write needs a clear split agreement. Ambiguity is how disputes start. Log your splits here so there's a paper trail.

3. Stay in the loop
