The real reason agency clients cancel isn't performance — it's silence
Ran client accounts for a few agencies before this, and the pattern was always the same: the work was good, the churn still happened. Not because ROAS dropped — because clients went quiet for two weeks, assumed nothing was happening, and cancelled.
The actual reporting was fine. It just lived in a dashboard nobody logged into, or a Notion doc that got stale, or a Friday email that read like a spreadsheet dump. Clients don't want more data. They want to know, in ten seconds, "is this working, and does someone have their hands on it."
A few things that actually moved the needle before I ever touched automation:
1. Frequency beats depth. A 3-line update every day beats a beautiful 10-page report every month. Silence is what triggers cancellations, not bad numbers.
2. Show the save, not just the win. Clients trust you more when you say "CPA crept up, we already fixed it" than when you only post wins. It signals someone's actually watching.
3. Meet them where they already are. If a client lives in Slack or WhatsApp, a report they have to log in elsewhere to see might as well not exist.
That third one is why I built ClientPulse AI — it takes the raw Meta/Google/TikTok/Shopify numbers and turns them into that daily 3-line update, delivered straight into the client's Slack, Discord, or WhatsApp, under your agency's own name. Not a dashboard. Not another login. Just the update that keeps clients from going quiet.
Early days for it, still building in public — happy to trade notes with anyone else running agency ops on what's actually kept your retention up.
