Why most short-form clips flop (and how to fix yours)
Most people think clipping is just cutting a random segment from a long video and posting it.
That's why most clips get 200 views and die.
After editing thousands of clips across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, here's what actually moves the needle:
The hook is everything. You have 0.5 seconds. If your first frame doesn't create curiosity or tension, they're gone. Start mid-sentence, mid-action, or with the most controversial take.
Context kills virality. Don't include the setup. Drop viewers into the climax. Let them piece it together — that's what keeps them watching.
Audio > visuals. A clip with average visuals but killer audio (tone shifts, pauses, raised voices) will outperform a perfectly edited clip with flat delivery every time.
Repost timing matters. Same clip, different time = completely different performance. Test 3 upload windows minimum before you write a clip off.
We're building a team of clippers at Clipbank who get this. If you can edit and you want to get paid per 1K views on the content you create — come through.
