What I look for when hiring clippers for a combat sports client

Running the clipping crew for an MMA org right now and going through applications daily. A few things that separate the clippers who actually get paid from the ones who get ignored:

1. You post the moment, not the whole fight. Nobody wants a 3-minute clip of a decision fight. Find the 8-15 second window — the knockdown, the trash talk in the face-off, the reaction shot — and build the whole cut around it.

2. Captions in the first second. Combat sports clips get scrolled past fast if the hook isn't visible before sound even loads. Bold text, high contrast, on-brand.

3. Post volume matters more than perfection. 5 solid clips a day beats 1 perfect clip a week. Algorithms reward consistency, and so do we.

4. Know the platform you're cutting for. A YouTube Short and a TikTok are not the same edit — pacing, captions, and length all shift.

If you clip combat sports content (or want to start), we're building out a crew right now — free to join, raw footage and briefs provided, paid per approved clip. Link in my profile.
