Why most logo clips look amateur (and how to fix it)

Most people think logo clipping is just removing a background. It's not.

The difference between a clean clip and a messy one comes down to 3 things:

Edge refinement — If your edges look jagged or have a white halo, your clip is dead on arrival. Learn to feather selectively, not uniformly.

Layer structure — The best clippers separate elements before clipping. Logo mark, wordmark, tagline — each gets its own treatment.

Format awareness — A clip for a dark background is different from one for print. If you're exporting the same file for everything, you're doing it wrong.

I've been clipping logos for a while now and built ClipVault to help beginners skip the painful trial-and-error phase.
