5 things I wish I knew before I started streaming
I've been in the gaming content space for a while now. Here's what I'd tell someone just starting out:
1. Nobody cares about your gameplay (at first)
Your personality carries the stream way more than your skill. The best streamers aren't always the best players — they're the most entertaining.
2. Consistency beats virality
Going live 4x/week for 3 months will grow you faster than one viral clip. The algorithm rewards reliability.
3. Your first 100 viewers will come from networking, not discovery
Raid other small streamers. Be active in communities. Comment on YouTube videos in your niche. Your early audience comes from relationships, not SEO.
4. Audio quality > video quality
Bad audio makes people leave in seconds. Invest in a decent mic before you upgrade your webcam or capture card.
5. Clip everything
Every stream should produce at least 2-3 clips for TikTok/YouTube Shorts/Reels. If you're not repurposing content, you're leaving growth on the table.
I'm building Clutch Club as a space for gaming creators to share what's working, get feedback, and actually grow together. If any of this resonated — come hang.
