Why I priced my beginner illustration course at $195.70/week (not $20 one-time)
I built a $195/week illustration course for total beginners — here's why the price is intentionally high
Most "learn to draw" content online is free, low-effort, and gets abandoned by 90% of people who start it. I didn't want to build another course that sits in someone's library unopened.
So with Linework Academy, I did three things differently:
1. Daily guided practice, not passive video. Every lesson is a specific drill — line control, basic shapes, shading, perspective — that takes 10-20 minutes and produces a real sketch you can look back on.
2. Strict lesson ordering. You can't skip ahead. Confidence with a pencil is built sequentially: lines → shapes → form → perspective → full projects. Skipping steps is why most beginners quit — they jump to "draw a face" before they can draw a circle confidently.
3. Priced weekly, not as a $20 one-time course. A real commitment price filters for people who are serious about building the habit, and it funds an active community + course updates instead of a course that gets abandoned after launch.
If you're a complete beginner who has "wanted to learn to draw" for years but never had structure — that's exactly who this is for. Chapter 1 starts with the absolute basics: line drills and shape confidence, no prior skill assumed.
Happy to answer questions about the curriculum or how the daily practice structure works.
