Nobody tells you this about wig transitions
Started Crowned by Lah after watching so many women stress over the in-between phase — cornrows growing out, post big-chop awkward stages, protective styles that just won't cooperate. That gap between "I need a break from my natural hair" and "I have a long-term plan" is where most people give up and just... deal with a bad hair day.
A few things I've learned sourcing and testing synthetic afro wigs for this exact moment:
Cap construction matters more than the hair itself. A breathable, adjustable cap is the difference between wearing it all day comfortably vs. ripping it off by noon.
Synthetic ≠ cheap-looking anymore. The heat-resistant fibers on the market now hold curl definition and don't get that "wiggy" shine under light.
Low-maintenance doesn't mean no-maintenance. Even a slip-on wig needs a monthly detangle and cool-air refresh to keep its shape.
Built Crowned by Lah specifically for the transitioning, the big-chop, and the "I just don't have 2 hours to do my hair today" crowd. If that's you, come say hi.
