Wrap one shape around every layer you select.
Select layers, hit Build, get a clean closed path wrapping all of them: padding, corner rounding, fill and stroke already applied.
REAL GEOMETRY, NOT BOUNDING BOXES
Most tools hull each layer’s bounding box corners and hand you a loose, boxy silhouette. This walks the actual contents: every bezier path, rectangle, ellipse and polystar, through group transforms, layer transforms and the full parent chain. Control points are included in the solve, so bulging curves can’t clip. Switch to Layer bounds mode for text, solids, footage and precomps.
THREE OUTPUT MODES
Static: solves at the current frame. Sharpest result, optional rounded corners, anchor point at the hull’s center.
Animated: bakes keyframes across your work area. Every frame is resampled onto evenly spaced rays so vertex order stays locked and the path interpolates instead of popping.
Live: writes an expression that recomputes forever. Move, retime or rewrite your layers and the hull follows. Nothing to re-bake.
ALSO
True miter padding with bevel fallback. Sharp, Rounded and Smooth corners. Single undo group.
REQUIREMENTS
After Effects CC 2018 or later. Windows and macOS. Installs as a dockable panel.
KNOWN LIMITS
Live mode is bounding-box based, so use Animated for tight solves on moving art. Rounded corners are Static only. No Repeater, Trim Paths or Offset Paths. 3D layers fall back to bounds.
