5 AI shortcuts that save me 2+ hours every single week
Most people think learning AI means becoming a developer or spending weeks watching tutorials. It doesn't. Here are 5 things I actually use every week that anyone can set up in under 10 minutes:
1. Email drafting with ChatGPT
Instead of staring at a blank screen for 15 minutes, I paste bullet points into ChatGPT and say "write this as a professional email, friendly tone." Done in 30 seconds. I edit the tone, hit send.
2. Meeting notes with Copilot
If you're on Microsoft 365, Copilot can summarise your Teams meetings and pull out action items automatically. No more frantically scribbling notes while trying to actually listen.
3. Canva AI for quick graphics
Need a social post or presentation slide? Canva's AI generates layouts from a single sentence. I used to spend 45 minutes on a single graphic. Now it's 5 minutes of tweaking.
4. "Explain this like I'm 5" prompting
Whenever I hit jargon-heavy documentation, I paste it into ChatGPT with "explain this in plain English for someone who isn't technical." Saves me from falling down rabbit holes.
5. Batch content repurposing
One long post → ChatGPT turns it into 5 social captions, an email subject line, and a summary. What used to take me an afternoon now takes 10 minutes.
None of these require coding. None of them cost extra (most have free tiers). They just require knowing what to ask and how to ask it — which is exactly what we teach inside Ctrl+Upskill.
If you've been wanting to get comfortable with AI but keep putting it off because it feels too techy — this is your sign. We break it down step by step, in plain English, with zero jargon.
