The 5 baby products every new parent actually needs (and 3 you can skip)
I've been through it — the overwhelm of baby registries, the 47 "must-have" lists, the guilt when you don't buy the $200 bouncer.
After going through it all, here's what actually matters:
✅ Worth every penny:
A good teething ring — silicone, BPA-free, easy to clean. Your baby WILL chew on everything.
Muslin swaddles — burp cloth, stroller shade, nursing cover, emergency blanket. Buy 4+.
High-contrast sensory cards — the only "toy" that actually engages babies under 3 months.
A quality rattle set — different textures, different sounds. Motor skills start here.
Organic cotton bibs — the thick, absorbent ones that actually catch drool.
❌ Skip these (for now):
Fancy play gyms — a blanket on the floor works just as well at 0-3 months
Wipe warmers — your baby won't notice, I promise
Designer outfits — they'll wear it once, spit up on it, and outgrow it in 2 weeks
The trick isn't buying more — it's buying smarter. That's exactly why we built CuddleCrate. We do the research so you don't have to.
