I tracked my screen time for 30 days. Here's what I found.
I spent 30 days tracking exactly how I spent every minute on my devices while building my startup.
The results were brutal:
4.2 hours/day on "work" that was actually context-switching between tabs
47 minutes/day on notifications that could've waited
Only 1.8 hours of actual deep, focused work
That means I was wasting 72% of my "work day" on shallow activity that felt productive but moved nothing forward.
The fix wasn't willpower. Willpower is a scam. The fix was systems:
→ Block distracting apps during focus windows (not forever, just during deep work)
→ Batch all communication into 2 windows per day
→ Track focus time like you track revenue — because it IS your revenue
Every hour of deep work I recovered was worth more than 3 hours of scattered "busy" work.
If you're a founder or creator and you feel like you're working all day but shipping nothing — you probably have a focus problem, not a work ethic problem.
That's why I built DeepLock.
