The study system that actually saved my GPA

I used to sit at my desk for 6 hours and get 45 minutes of real work done.

I'd open my laptop "to study" and somehow end up 2 hours deep into YouTube. Every night I'd go to bed feeling guilty, telling myself tomorrow would be different. It never was.

So I stopped trying to be disciplined and started building systems instead.

Here's what I changed:

I stopped studying "whenever I feel like it." I blocked 2 fixed study windows per day. Same time, same place. Non-negotiable. Even if I sat there doing nothing for the first 20 minutes — I showed up.

I killed the all-or-nothing mindset. Instead of planning a 4-hour study marathon (that I'd skip entirely), I committed to 25 minutes. Most days, once I started, I'd go longer. But the bar was 25 minutes.

I built a shutdown routine. At 8pm, I'm done. No more "one more chapter" at midnight. This actually made me MORE productive because I knew my time was limited.

I tracked what I actually did, not what I planned. Every night I wrote down what I accomplished in 60 seconds. After a week, the patterns were obvious — I could see exactly where time was leaking.

None of this is revolutionary. But stacking these small systems together completely changed my semester.

I packaged the full framework into a step-by-step system. If you're a student fighting the same battles, it might help.
