Dentists, be honest 🦷

What's one thing patients say that instantly makes you think, “This appointment is going to be interesting”? 😭

Dentists, be honest 🦷

What's one thing patients do that makes your job harder; but they don't even realise it?

Your dentist needs to know more than just your dental problems.

Your medical history can influence how dental treatment is planned and delivered.

For example, conditions such as diabetes may affect oral health and can be relevant to dental treatment.

That’s why it's important to:

  • Inform your dentist about your medical conditions.

  • Share the medications you're taking.

  • Mention relevant allergies and previous medical issues.

  • Update your dentist if your health changes.

Never assume a medical condition is unrelated to your dental health.

The more your dentist knows about your health, the better they can assess your needs and plan appropriate care.

🦷 Your medical history is an important part of your dental history.

Not every dental problem starts with pain.

Many people wait until a tooth hurts before visiting a dentist.

But some dental problems can develop quietly before you notice any symptoms.

That’s why a dental visit shouldn’t only happen when something hurts.

No pain doesn't always mean no problem. 🦷

Regular dental checkups can help identify problems earlier, when they may be easier to manage.

Don’t wait for your teeth to complain.

Your teeth don't suddenly become unhealthy.

The signs usually come first.

We just ignore them.

Should one visits the dentist only after pain?

🦷 Be honest 😂

After leaving the dentist, how many of their instructions do you actually remember?

It’s surprisingly easy to forget what was said, which questions you wanted to ask, or what you’re supposed to do next.

That’s why I built Dental Visit Companion: to help you prepare for your visit, save your questions, keep notes, and track your dental visits in one place.

Want to try it? Reply “COMPANION” and I’ll send you the link. 🔗

“Are Yellow Teeth Unhealthy?”

Everyone's teeth have a different natural color.

Some people naturally have teeth with a more yellowish or creamy shade.

Why?

Because the outer covering of our teeth is called enamel. It is somewhat translucent, and the layer directly beneath it, known as dentin, has a naturally yellowish color.

So, if someone's enamel is genetically more translucent, or the underlying dentin is more yellowish, their teeth may appear more yellow.

Therefore, having yellowish teeth does not mean the teeth are unhealthy!
