Welcome to AquaDunes Safety Academy šŸŒŠšŸœļø

Welcome to the tribe.

You just joined a community that sits at the intersection of two of the most demanding environments on Earth — the open ocean and the desert.

What You Get Access To

šŸŽ“ Desert Ultra Hydration & Pacing Mastery — A full 15-lesson course covering hydration science, thermoregulation, race day execution, and emergency self-rescue.

šŸ’¬ Community Chat — Connect with fellow crossover athletes. Share training logs, race reports, and hard-won lessons.

šŸ“¢ Updates & Resources — Supplementary content, new research, gear recommendations, and protocol updates.

How to Get Started

  1. Head to the course and start with Chapter 1: Foundations

  2. Work through sequentially — each chapter builds on the last

  3. Drop into chat and introduce yourself

  4. Complete all lessons to earn your certificate

The desert doesn't negotiate. Neither does the ocean. But if you've found your way here, you already know that.

Let's get to work.

Desert Ultras Meet Spearfishing Safety — A New Approach to Extreme Endurance

Most desert ultra runners train like runners. That's the first mistake.

I'm a spearfishing safety instructor, and I've spent years teaching people to manage oxygen, thermoregulation, and panic response in the ocean's most hostile conditions. Turns out, those same principles are exactly what separates finishers from DNFs in desert ultramarathons.

The Problem

Desert ultras have some of the highest DNF rates in endurance sports — not because runners aren't fit enough, but because they don't understand:

  • Hydration isn't just "drink more water" — it's a sodium-dependent system that most athletes get catastrophically wrong

  • Heat acclimatization follows the same principles as dive adaptation — progressive exposure with recovery windows

  • Emergency self-rescue in the desert mirrors survival protocols underwater — and most runners have zero training in it

What I Built

AquaDunes Safety Academy is a course and community for crossover athletes and serious ultra runners who want to dominate desert racing using principles from extreme aquatic environments.

The course covers:

  • Hydration science for extreme heat

  • Thermoregulation and heat acclimatization protocols

  • Pacing strategy specific to desert ultras

  • Race day execution and emergency protocols

  • Post-race recovery and rehydration

Whether you're a diver looking to cross over into ultra running, or a runner who wants a tactical edge in the heat — this is for you.

The desert doesn't care about your marathon PR. It cares about your protocol.
