The 80/20 of fast video editing (what actually moves the needle)
After editing hundreds of videos and building tools/templates for other creators, here's the honest breakdown of what actually speeds up your workflow β vs. what's just a distraction:
Moves the needle:
Keyboard shortcuts for cut/trim/ripple delete β saves hours per week, not minutes
A consistent project template (pre-built sequences, color LUTs, title styles) so you're never starting from a blank timeline
Batch-processing similar clips (color grade one, copy settings to the rest)
AI tools for rough transcription/captions β do this first, edit around the text
Doesn't move the needle (despite what YouTube tutorials say):
Chasing every new plugin or preset pack
Manually keyframing things a template already solves
Editing in 4K when your final export is 1080p
The editors who scale aren't the most "skilled" β they're the ones who removed decisions from their workflow. Build the system once, then just execute.
If you want the templates/AI stack I use daily, I put them together in one place: whop.com/moha-editor1
