Why I Stopped Using Elementor for Client Sites (And What I Use Instead)
After building 30+ client sites across 3 agencies, I've moved almost entirely to Bricks Builder. Here's why.
The problem with Elementor at scale:
DOM bloat. A simple page generates 200+ divs. That kills Core Web Vitals.
Plugin dependency. You need 5+ add-ons for things Bricks handles natively.
Performance ceiling. No matter how much you optimize, Elementor sites plateau around 70-80 on PageSpeed.
What changed when I switched to Bricks:
Average PageSpeed jumped from 72 → 94 across my last 10 projects
Build time dropped ~30% because Bricks' query loop and dynamic data system is insanely fast
Clients stopped complaining about slow sites
The one thing Elementor still wins at:
Ease of use for clients who want to edit their own content. Bricks' editor is more developer-focused. If your client needs to DIY, Gutenberg blocks with ACF fields is the better handoff.
