If you run a paid Discord community, retention — not acquisition — is what actually determines whether you build a real business. Here are 5 AI prompt frameworks you can use today, free, to reduce churn:

1. The "Silent Member" Re-engagement Prompt

Ask your AI: "Write a friendly, non-salesy DM to a member who hasn't posted or reacted in 14 days, referencing [their original goal for joining] and inviting them to a specific upcoming event." Personalized outreach beats generic "we miss you" blasts every time.

2. The Weekly Value Recap Prompt

Ask your AI: "Summarize this week's top 3 discussions/wins in [community topic] into a punchy 5-bullet recap for a Discord announcement." Post it every Friday. Members who see tangible weekly value are far less likely to cancel.

3. The Tiered Offer Clarifier

Ask your AI: "Explain the difference between our [Tier 1] and [Tier 2] memberships in 3 sentences, focused on outcomes not features." Confusion about what they're paying for is a top churn driver — clarity fixes it.

4. The Win Celebration Prompt

Ask your AI: "Write a short celebratory shoutout for a member who just achieved [specific result], tagging them and inviting others to ask them questions." Public recognition drives both retention and referrals.

5. The Cancellation Save Prompt

Ask your AI: "Write a short, empathetic message for a member who just requested cancellation, offering [specific alternative — pause, downgrade, or limited-time discount] without being pushy." A good save sequence recovers a meaningful share of would-be cancellations.

Run these consistently and you'll see real retention gains within a month. If you want the full done-for-you prompt system (100+ prompts across onboarding, upsells, retention, and niche-specific packs updated weekly), check out the Discord Community Monetization AI Prompt Masterset here on Whop.
