A brutal 2D dark fantasy arena where warriors face off in intense 1v1 duels. Only one soul walks out of the Dome.

Why I built a 1v1-only fighting game with no meta to hide behind

I got tired of fighting games where the actual skill ceiling gets buried under team comps, items, and RNG. So I built The Dome of the Souls: a 2D dark fantasy arena where it's always just you vs. one other person. No teammates to blame, no third-party interference — just reads, spacing, and execution.

A few design decisions I made on purpose:

  • No pay-to-win, ever. The game is free to enter and free to compete in ranked. If you want to spend money, it goes toward cosmetics only (the Soulbound Pass) — never stats, never power.

  • Every match is a duel. Removing teams forces you to own every win and every loss. It's brutal, but it's the purest way to actually get better.

  • Dark fantasy setting, not generic anime. Weapon-based combat, weighty animations, and an atmosphere that feels like you're fighting for something — because in the lore, you are.

If you're the kind of player who wants to climb a ladder and know your rank actually reflects your skill, this is built for you. Would genuinely love feedback from anyone who's grinded fighting game ladders before — what makes a ranked system feel fair to you?
