Why a Pull-Up Bar is the Only Equipment You Actually Need
Most people overthink their home gym setup. They buy a rack, a bench, dumbbells, cables — and end up with a room they barely use.
Here's the truth: if you're serious about building real functional strength, a pull-up bar does more than all of that combined.
What you can train with just a bar:
Pull-ups & chin-ups (back, biceps, grip)
Hanging leg raises (core, hip flexors)
Muscle-ups (full upper body power)
Skin the cats (shoulder mobility & strength)
Front/back lever progressions (insane core + back)
That's basically your entire upper body covered. Add a floor for push-ups and dips, and you're training everything.
The calisthenics community has known this for years. Gymnasts are built from bars and rings — not machines.
If you're just starting out or looking to simplify, start with the bar. Everything else is optional.
