I've watched hundreds of people try dropshipping. Most quit within a month. Here's why — and what to do instead.
1. Picking a "passion" product instead of a proven one
Nobody cares that you love custom cat mugs. Find products with existing demand — use AliExpress trending, TikTok search, and Amazon movers & shakers. Follow the data, not your feelings.
2. Building a "perfect" store before launching
Your first store will be ugly. That's fine. A clean product page with a solid offer converts better than a fancy site with zero traffic. Launch fast, iterate later.
3. Spending money on ads before understanding your margins
If your product costs $8, sells for $20, and shipping is $5 — you have $7 of margin. That's your entire ad budget per sale. Know this number BEFORE you spend anything on ads.
4. Ignoring supplier quality
Cheap suppliers = angry customers = chargebacks = dead store. Always order a sample first. Test shipping times. If it takes 30 days to arrive, find another supplier.
5. Giving up after the first failed product
Your first product probably won't be a winner. Neither will your second. But your fifth? Your tenth? That's where the money is. Dropshipping is a testing game — the more you test, the faster you find a winner.
If you're just starting out and want a clear roadmap from zero to your first sale, I built a step-by-step community for exactly that.
Hey, welcome in — glad you're here.
Here's how to get the most out of your membership:
1. Jump into the Community Chat
Introduce yourself, tell us where you're at. Zero experience? Perfect — that's what this is for.
2. Follow the Guides
I'll be posting step-by-step breakdowns in Updates & Guides — product research, store setup, supplier sourcing, ads. Work through them at your own pace.
3. Ask Questions
No dumb questions. If you're stuck on something, drop it in the chat. Chances are someone else is stuck on the same thing.
4. Take Action
The people who win at dropshipping aren't the ones who consume the most content — they're the ones who launch. Your goal: get your first store live within 2 weeks.
Let's get to work.
