Why most 'healthy' snacks in Pakistan are lying to you
I spent 3 months reading the labels on every "healthy" snack I could find in Peshawar.
The result? Most of them are loaded with refined sugar, palm oil, and artificial flavors — just with a green label slapped on top.
Here's what I learned:
1. "Baked not fried" still means processed — The base ingredients matter more than the cooking method. If it's made from refined flour, baking it doesn't make it healthy.
2. "No added sugar" ≠ no sugar — Many products use fruit concentrates or maltodextrin which spike your blood sugar just as fast.
3. Real healthy snacking is simpler than you think — Roasted chana, dried fruits, seeds, and nuts with natural seasoning. That's it. No chemistry lab needed.
That's why I started Eat Right Bite — honest snacks with ingredients you can actually pronounce. Made in Pakistan, for Pakistan.
