3 Mistakes That Keep Beginner Futures Traders Broke
I've been trading futures for years and I see the same mistakes over and over from beginners. Here's what's actually killing your P&L:
1. Trading without a stop loss
"I'll just watch it." No you won't. You'll freeze, and before you know it, one trade wipes out a week of gains. ALWAYS set your stop before you enter.
2. Overleveraging on day one
Micro contracts exist for a reason. You don't need to trade 10 NQ contracts when you're still learning structure. Start with 1 MNQ and scale up as your win rate proves itself.
3. Jumping between strategies every week
You watched a YouTube video about ICT, then switched to supply/demand, then tried order flow. Pick ONE approach, backtest it for 30 days, and actually give it a chance.
The market isn't going anywhere. Your job isn't to get rich tomorrow โ it's to still be trading a year from now.
If you want a structured environment to actually learn futures the right way, I built Elite Futures exactly for that. Signals, education, and a community that keeps you accountable.
