🎬 Now Hiring: Short-Form Clip Editor — $11 Test Task

Epex is a clipping agency turning long-form podcasts/interviews/panels into short-form clips for TikTok, Reels, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts for finance & business creators.

We're looking for a skilled short-form editor to take on a paid test task:

The task:

  • Cut ONE raw long-form clip into a punchy, scroll-stopping vertical short

  • Hook in the first 1-2 seconds — no buried lede

  • Clean, retention-optimized captions (not raw auto-caption dumps)

  • Tight pacing, jump cuts where needed, clear CTA moment at the end

Pay: $11 for the approved test clip. Nail it, and you're first in line for ongoing paid client work as we scale.

How to apply: Comment below or DM with a link to your best short-form edit (any niche is fine — we care about pacing, hooks, and captions). We'll send the winning applicant raw footage to work with.

Why most finance creators' clips flop (and the fix)

Ran an internal audit across dozens of finance/business podcast clips this year. The pattern is almost always the same 3 mistakes:

1. The hook is buried past 3 seconds. On finance content specifically, the strongest line is usually mid-answer, not the intro. Scrub the whole segment before you cut — don't just clip from the start.

2. Captions match the platform, not the moment. Bold, high-contrast captions with a 1-2 word emphasis style outperform full-sentence subtitles on finance/business clips by a wide margin — the content is already dense, don't make people read paragraphs.

3. No clear CTA loop. The best-performing finance clips end on a specific, single next step ("full episode linked," "part 2 tomorrow") — not a generic "follow for more."

We run a done-for-you clipping service for finance and business creators (Epex) — if you're sitting on hours of unused podcast/interview footage, this is exactly what we fix. Happy to answer questions here either way.
