Know where the gamma flip and the biggest options walls are before the open.
We tested every GEX reading we’d seen traders use, on 1,616 SPX and NDX sessions. The clearest result: sessions that opened below the gamma flip moved about 1.6 times as much as sessions that opened above it. The flip tells you how big the day is likely to be, not which way it goes.
