There's a reason every culture on earth has fairy tales.

Not just one. Every single culture. Across thousands of years of human history, we keep telling the same types of stories: the lost child who finds their way home. The cursed kingdom waiting for someone brave enough to break the spell. The ordinary person who discovers they were extraordinary all along.

We stopped taking these stories seriously somewhere around age 10. And I think that was a mistake.

Here's what fairy tales actually do:

They give language to things we can't explain. Depression, grief, loneliness — these are hard to talk about directly. But "the dark forest you have to walk through alone"? Everyone understands that.

They remind us that transformation is possible. Not in a toxic-positivity way. Real transformation — the kind that requires loss, risk, and usually a little magic you didn't see coming.

They operate outside logic. In a world that demands data for everything, there's something deeply human about a story that just says: trust this, it doesn't need to make sense.

I started Fairy Tales because I wanted to write stories for the adults who never stopped believing — or who stopped and want to start again.
