Grade 3 football: stop the line drill
At 8–9 years old, the player who touches the ball 80 times learns more than the player who watches a line.
A Grade 3 session that actually builds technique:
Every child starts with a ball
15 minutes on one picture (close dribble, inside-foot pass, first touch, or laces)
Then 4v4 on a small pitch so the skill has to show up in a game
Do not pin them to positions. Do not freeze the game five times. Say “keep it close” instead of “don’t lose it.”
That is the whole method. Pictures and a 12-session plan live in the Grade 3 Football Technique Book.
