The 15-Minute Window Most Service Businesses Miss
Here's something most plumbers, electricians, cleaners, and trades owners don't realize:
When someone submits a request for a quote or sends a message asking about availability, they usually contact 2-3 businesses at once. The first one to reply with something useful almost always gets the job.
Not the cheapest. Not the one with the best website. The one who answered first.
The window is about 15 minutes. After that, the lead starts to cool. They check their phone less. They get distracted. They call the next name on the list.
Most service businesses reply in hours — sometimes the next morning. By then, the job is gone.
The fix isn't complicated:
0:00–1:00 — Read the message. Decide if it's a fit.
1:00–3:00 — Send a short reply. Confirm you got their request. Give them one clear next step.
3:00–10:00 — If you need more info, ask one thing at a time. Don't send a form. Don't send a paragraph.
That's it. Less back-and-forth. Fewer leads drifting away. More booked visits from the same leads you already get.
I put together a free guide that breaks this down step by step — the Speed Before Price approach, the first-ten-minutes journey, and how to rewrite your first response so it actually gets replies.
Free download, instant access. Built for busy trades and home service owners who want more jobs from the same leads.
