5 Things Nobody Tells You About Finding a Good Lawyer

Finding a lawyer shouldn't feel like a gamble. But for most people, it does.

Here's what I've learned building a global lawyer directory:

1. Google reviews are unreliable for lawyers. Most satisfied clients don't leave reviews — they just move on. The ones who do are often outliers in both directions.

2. Specialization matters more than reputation. A "top lawyer" in corporate law is useless for your immigration case. Always match the exact specialty to your situation.

3. Location isn't as important as it used to be. Many legal consultations are now remote. Your best option might be in a different city — or even a different country.

4. The first consultation tells you everything. A good lawyer listens first, talks second. If they're pitching you in the first 5 minutes, walk away.

5. Most people wait too long. Legal issues compound. The earlier you find the right person, the cheaper and faster the resolution.

That's why I built LegalRadar — a directory of vetted lawyers worldwide, searchable by specialty, location, and real client reviews.

If you've ever needed a lawyer and didn't know where to start, this is for you.
