Here's a pattern I see constantly: someone's trading on 3-4 exchanges, maybe has a few DeFi positions, and when you ask "what's your actual return this year?" they have no clue.

They'll say "I think I'm up" but can't tell you by how much. And the problem isn't laziness — it's that the infrastructure doesn't exist to easily see everything in one place.

You've got Binance showing one P&L, Coinbase showing another, your MetaMask doesn't show cost basis at all, and your exchange P&L doesn't even account for fees or transfers between accounts.

The real number is usually uglier than you think. And that's actually a good thing to know, because:

• You stop doubling down on strategies that are quietly bleeding you

• You see which exchanges/chains are actually performing

• You can finally benchmark yourself properly
