5 Things Your Work Clothes Should Survive (And Most Don't)
After years working in warehouses and talking to people on factory floors, here's what kills most work clothing:
1. The crouch-and-reach cycle. If your pants rip at the crotch seam within 3 months, they weren't built for physical work. Double-knee means nothing if the inseam is single-stitched.
2. Sweat. Cotton tees that turn into wet rags by lunch aren't workwear ā they're undershirts. Breathability and moisture management matter more than thickness.
3. Washing. Your gear gets washed 3-4x a week. Most "durable" clothing fades, shrinks, or pills after 20 washes. That's 5 weeks.
4. Cold-to-hot transitions. You walk from a freezing loading dock into a heated warehouse 15 times a shift. Layering shouldn't mean bulking up.
5. Pockets under load. Cargo pockets that sag and rip when you put a phone and box cutter in them defeat the purpose.
We built Forgefit around these exact problems. Every piece is tested against real shift conditions ā not a lab.
