The order I'd build a startup's first assets in (if I were starting from zero)
Ran ForgeWorks Studio for a while now doing design/dev work for founders, restaurants, and creators — and the #1 mistake I see is people building assets in the wrong order and burning budget re-doing things.
Here's the sequence that actually saves money:
Logo first, but keep it simple. Don't pay for a 10-concept logo package before you've validated anything. A clean wordmark or icon is enough to launch.
One-pager website before the full site. You need something to send people now. A single scroll page with your offer, pricing, and a way to contact you beats a half-built 8-page site every time.
Market research before the app/product build. This is the step almost everyone skips. Even 20 customer conversations or a scrappy survey will change your roadmap. Building first and researching later means rebuilding.
Presentation deck only once you're pitching or selling B2B. Don't design one speculatively — the story changes fast in the first few months.
Business cards/banners/posters last. These are marketing amplifiers, not foundations. They only pay off once you have something people can actually buy.
If you're mid-build and it feels like everything needs redoing at once — that's usually a sign the order got skipped, not that you need more assets. Happy to look at where you're at if useful.
