Why most "AI for business" tools don't actually save you time
We spent months building an AI tool before realizing the AI wasn't the problem — context was.
Every AI outreach tool, lead generator, and content writer we tried had the same flaw: every request started from zero. "Write me a cold email" produces something generic because the AI doesn't know your product, your audience, your tone, or what's already worked before. So you end up doing 80% of the work anyway — editing, re-explaining, re-prompting.
The fix isn't a better model. It's persistent context. If a system actually knows your company — your offer, your ICP, your past campaigns, your voice — the output changes completely. "Write me an email" becomes "generate outreach," and it's already right.
That's the whole thesis behind what we're building with Fortify: a "Company DNA" layer that every tool (lead sourcing, outreach, competitor analysis, brand voice) reads from, so nothing starts from a blank page.
If you're evaluating AI tools for your business, the question worth asking isn't "how good is the model" — it's "does this thing remember who I am tomorrow." Most don't. Curious what others have run into here.
