The #1 reason console Fortnite players get stuck at Gold-Platinum (it's not aim)
Coached a lot of console players this year and the pattern is almost always the same: it's not aim, it's edit speed.
Most Gold-Plat players build a wall, panic, and take 1.5-2 seconds to throw an edit. At that speed, a PC player with a mouse has already rotated behind you or third-partied the fight. The gap isn't mechanical skill — it's decision speed under pressure.
Three things that actually moved the needle for my students:
Edit courses on repeat, but timed. Don't just run edit courses — run them against a stopwatch. If your ramp-rush edit takes longer than 0.4s, that's your bottleneck, not your building.
Piece control before piece speed. Most players try to build faster before they've locked in which piece to place. Slow down in creative until placement is automatic, then add speed.
Replace 50% of your box fight reps with 1v1 build fights. Box fights teach aim under pressure. Build fights teach rotation and edit reads. If you only box fight, you'll plateau exactly where most console players do — Gold to Plat.
If you're grinding on console and stuck in that exact rank range, this is the wall almost everyone hits. Happy to break down clips if anyone wants specific feedback.
