The $400/month mistake most college grads make (and how to fix it)

Most people graduate college and immediately start bleeding money on things they don't need — subscriptions they forgot about, eating out 5x a week, and zero plan for their student loans.

Here's the thing: the average college grad has $37,000 in student debt and pays about $400/month minimum. Most of that goes to interest for years because nobody taught them how loan amortization works.

The fix is stupidly simple:

  1. List every subscription you have. Cancel the bottom 3. That's probably $30-50/mo you won't even miss.

  2. Set up autopay for your loans — but round up to the nearest $50. An extra $20-30/month can cut YEARS off your payoff timeline.

  3. Open a high-yield savings account and auto-transfer $25 every paycheck. Don't touch it. In 6 months you'll have an emergency fund without even trying.

These three moves take about 30 minutes total and will save you thousands over the next 5 years.
