3 habits that got me from Gold to Immortal in 6 months
Most players think aim is the bottleneck. It's not. After grinding ranked for years across CS2 and Valorant, here's what actually moved the needle:
1. Record and rewatch your deaths. Not your highlights — your deaths. Every death is a decision you can fix. I started doing 10-minute VOD reviews after each session and my death count dropped 30% in two weeks.
2. Warm up with purpose, not routine. Don't just hop into aim trainers on autopilot. Pick ONE thing to work on each session — spray transfers, flick accuracy, crosshair placement — and drill that for 15 minutes max.
3. Play with people better than you. Solo queue teaches you bad habits because you compensate for bad teammates. Stack with players 1-2 ranks above you and you'll absorb their game sense without even trying.
If you're serious about ranking up in competitive FPS, we built Frag House for exactly this — strats, VOD reviews, and a squad that actually grinds. Link in bio.
