The #1 reason small businesses lose deals (it's not price)

I've consulted with dozens of small businesses on their sales process, and the same pattern shows up every time.

They lose deals not because their price is too high — but because they never answered the one question every buyer is silently asking:

"What's in it for me?"

Most founders pitch features. They talk about what their product does. But buyers don't care about features. They care about outcomes.

Here's a simple framework I give every client:

Before every call, write down three answers to: "After working with us, my customer will be able to ___."

Not "we offer 24/7 support." Instead: "You'll never wait more than 2 hours for a fix, so your team stays productive."

Not "we have an analytics dashboard." Instead: "You'll know exactly which campaigns are making money by Friday."

That shift — from features to outcomes — is worth more than any closing technique. Because when the buyer can see their future with you, the price conversation becomes a formality.

If your sales conversations keep stalling, try this before your next call. You'll feel the difference immediately.
