3. Skipping the moisture test. Especially in basements and ground floors. Moisture kills flooring investments faster than anything.

4. Going with the cheapest installer. A bad install ruins good material. We've torn out more botched jobs than I can count.

5. Not getting multiple quotes. Always compare — and make sure each quote breaks down materials vs. labor so you're comparing apples to apples.
