The Only 3 Chart Patterns You Need to Know as a Trader
Most traders drown themselves in indicators and patterns. Here's the truth ā you only need to master a few to trade consistently well.
1. The Flag Pattern š©
A strong move up or down (the pole), followed by a tight consolidation (the flag). When price breaks out of the flag in the direction of the original move, that's your entry. Clean, repeatable, and high-probability.
2. The Double Bottom / Double Top š
Two equal lows or two equal highs. This is the market testing a key level twice and failing. When the "neckline" breaks, the move is confirmed. This pattern shows up on every timeframe ā from 5-minute charts to weekly candles.
3. The Break and Retest š
Price breaks through a key resistance level, pulls back to test it as support, and then continues higher. This is one of the cleanest entries you can find ā you're buying at a former ceiling that's now a floor.

Why do most people still lose even knowing these patterns?
Because patterns don't trade themselves. You still need:
Proper position sizing
Defined stop losses
A disciplined entry trigger
The mental fortitude to execute
