Why most freelance marketplaces are broken (and what I'm doing differently)

Spent the last few years freelancing as a dev, and the thing nobody tells you: the hardest part was never the work. It was finding it.

Most freelance platforms have the same problem — you're competing with 200 other bids on every gig, racing to the bottom on price, and clients can't tell who's actually good from who just has a slick profile.

So I built FreelanceLoop differently:

  • No bidding wars. Gigs get posted once, matched to the right skillset, first-come first-served.

  • Vetted both sides. Clients know they're getting real talent. Freelancers know the gigs are real, paying work — not scams or $5 tasks.

  • A real community, not a listings dump. You're in a chat with other freelancers in your lane, trading notes, referrals, and rates.

If you're a freelance dev, designer, or marketer tired of cold outreach and race-to-the-bottom bidding, this is built for you. Small businesses and startups — if you need project work done without the agency markup, same story.

Link's in my profile. Would love feedback from anyone who's dealt with the same freelance-platform frustrations.
