3 AI side hustles that actually work in 2026 (from someone doing them)

I've been testing every AI money-making method for the past year. Most are garbage. Here are the 3 that actually put money in my account:

1. Faceless AI Content

You don't need to show your face. AI writes the script, clones a voice, and you stitch it together in CapCut. I'm talking 30 minutes a day. The channels blowing up right now are in niche education — history, psychology, "things you didn't know" type content. The RPMs are solid and the competition is still low.

2. AI Freelancing

Businesses are desperate for people who actually know how to use AI tools well. I'm talking content writing, social media management, ad creative, chatbot setups. You can land $500-1,500/mo retainer clients just by DMing small business owners and showing them what AI can do for their content. Most freelancers still aren't using AI — that's your edge.

3. Digital Product Creation

Prompt packs, template bundles, mini-courses — all created with AI in a fraction of the time. A well-positioned $27-47 product that solves a specific problem can generate passive income for months.

The key with all of these: start before you're ready. The people making money aren't smarter than you. They just started.

I built a full system around these three paths. If you want the step-by-step, check out what I'm building here at Broke&Built.

The $50/week meal plan that got me to 180g protein as a broke college athlete

Most "athlete meal plans" online are built for people with personal chefs and unlimited grocery budgets. That's not real life when you're splitting rent 4 ways and eating in a dorm.

I spent 2 years figuring out how to consistently hit 180g+ protein per day on under $50/week in groceries. Here's what actually works:

The 3 rules:

  1. Protein anchors — Every meal starts with a cheap protein source. Chicken thighs ($1.99/lb), eggs (20¢ each), Greek yogurt, canned tuna. Stop buying chicken breast, thighs taste better and cost half.

  2. Carb cycling on a budget — Rice and oats are your base. Buy in bulk. On training days, double the carbs. Rest days, swap for extra veggies. Simple.

  3. Batch cook or starve — Sunday meal prep isn't optional. 2 hours on Sunday = you eat clean all week. Skip it = you're ordering Doordash at midnight.

Sample day (2,800 cal / 185g protein):

  • Breakfast: 4 eggs + oats + banana = 40g protein

  • Lunch: Chicken thighs + rice + broccoli = 50g protein

  • Snack: Greek yogurt + protein shake = 45g protein

  • Dinner: Ground turkey tacos + beans = 50g protein

Total grocery cost: ~$7/day.

This isn't complicated. It's just discipline + a system.
