90%+ AFUE furnaces need a code-compliant termination for their combustion exhaust and intake air. A concentric kit runs both through a single wall or roof penetration — cleaner install, better aesthetics, easier to waterproof.
What it does
A concentric vent kit is a double-wall termination that allows both exhaust pipe and intake air pipe to share a single penetration. The outer pipe is the intake; the inner pipe is the exhaust. Required for condensing furnace installs (92%+ AFUE).
Why you’ll want it
Single wall/roof penetration instead of two — easier to waterproof
Cleaner exterior aesthetic (one pipe coming out of the siding)
Reduces install labor (one hole instead of two)
Code-compliant with most 90%+ AFUE furnace install manuals
