The study method that actually moved my scores (not just 'study harder')
Spent the last while building condensed study material for high schoolers, and the biggest thing I noticed testing this with students: most kids aren't studying wrong because they're lazy — they're studying wrong because they're re-reading instead of recalling.
Re-reading notes feels productive but barely moves retention. What actually works:
Active recall — close the notes, write down everything you remember, then check what you missed. That gap is where the real studying happens.
Spaced repetition — review the same material at increasing intervals (1 day, 3 days, 7 days) instead of cramming once.
Condensed high-yield notes — cut the fluff. If a topic isn't tested often, it doesn't deserve equal space in your notes.
Built a whole system around this (flashcard decks + condensed guides) because I got tired of watching students burn hours on low-yield studying. If you're prepping for exams and want a shortcut, check it out — but even if you don't, try active recall + spacing this week. It's free and it works.
