The 3 reasons most diets fail (and what to do instead)
I've helped people lose weight consistently. Here's what I've learned about why most people quit within 2 weeks:
1. They cut too much, too fast.
Going from 3,000 calories to 1,200 overnight is a recipe for binge eating. Start with a 300-500 calorie deficit. That's it. You'll barely feel it, and you'll actually stick with it.
2. They have zero accountability.
Willpower is a myth. What works is having other people doing the same thing, checking in daily. That's why we built GetFit as a community — not just a meal plan PDF.
3. They focus on the scale instead of habits.
The scale fluctuates 2-5 lbs daily from water alone. Track your habits instead: Did you hit your protein? Did you move for 30 min? Those are the real metrics.
If any of this hits home, we're building something different at GetFit. Structured plans, daily accountability, and a community of beginners who actually show up.
No fads. No supplements. Just the basics, done right.
