📉 Runway Math: The Number Every Founder Avoids (Until It’s Too Late)

Hey GK Founder 👋

You’re tracking signups.

You’re tracking features.

You’re tracking vanity metrics.

But are you tracking your runway?

Cash doesn’t care about your vision. It only cares about your burn rate.

The Founder’s Runway Formula:

(Do this in 5 minutes. No spreadsheet needed.)

1️⃣ MONTHLY BURN

→ Total expenses + your salary (even if you’re not paying yourself yet)

→ $___

2️⃣ CURRENT MRR

→ Monthly recurring revenue

→ $___

3️⃣ NET BURN

→ Monthly Burn − MRR

→ $___

4️⃣ RUNWAY

→ Cash in Bank ÷ Net Burn

→ ___ months

💡 The Golden Rule:

→ < 6 months = Emergency mode. Cut costs, raise now, or pivot.

→ 6–9 months = Start fundraising outreach. Desperation kills leverage.

→ 9–12+ months = Focus on product & growth. You have runway to execute.

📋 Try this today:

  1. Open your bank account & expense tracker

  2. Plug your numbers into the 4-step formula

  3. Circle your actual runway month

  4. Set a calendar reminder for 3 months before it hits zero

GK FoundersClub members:

This exact calculator + investor timing guide is on Page 36 of your 100 Days Playbook.

Know your numbers before anyone asks.

🤝 Challenge:

Drop your runway below 👇

(Or “Pre-revenue / Calculating” if you’re just starting)

Let’s help you strategize before the clock runs out.

Cash is oxygen. Track it. Protect it. Scale with it. 💙

📊 The 5 Metrics That Actually Matter (Ignore the Rest)

Hey GK Founder 👋

You're drowning in data.

→ Page views

→ Social followers

→ Email opens

→ Feature usage

→ NPS scores

But here's the truth:

Most metrics are vanity. They feel good. They don't pay bills.

Track ONLY these 5 in your first 100 days:

1️⃣ ACTIVATION RATE

% of signups who complete your core action

→ Target: >40%

→ If lower: Your onboarding is broken. Fix it first.

2️⃣ CONVERSION TO PAID

% of activated users who pay

→ Target: >10%

→ If lower: Your value prop isn't clear. Test messaging.

3️⃣ WEEKLY RETENTION

% of users who come back 7 days later

→ Target: >30%

→ If lower: You're not solving a real pain. Re-validate.

4️⃣ MRR GROWTH RATE

Month-over-month revenue change

→ Target: +20% early stage

→ If flat: Your acquisition or pricing needs work.

5️⃣ CUSTOMER EFFORT SCORE

"How easy was it to get value?" (1-5 scale)

→ Target: <2 (lower = easier)

→ If higher: Your product is too complex. Simplify.

💡 Why these 5?

✅ They measure real business health — not noise

✅ They're actionable: each one points to a specific fix

✅ They compound: improve one, and the others follow

📋 Try this today:

  1. Open your analytics / spreadsheet / notebook

  2. Write down your current number for each of the 5

  3. Circle the ONE that's furthest from target

  4. Block 30 mins this week to fix ONLY that one

📘 GK FoundersClub members:

This exact metrics dashboard is on Page 26 of your 100 Days Playbook.

Use it. Review it every Monday. Let data drive decisions — not guesses.

🤝 Challenge:

Which metric is your biggest gap right now? 👇

Drop the number + your plan to fix it.

We'll help you brainstorm.

Build what matters. Measure what moves the needle. 💙

🚫 The MVP Trap: Why Your Launch Is Delayed (And How to Fix It)

Hey GK Founder 👋

You’re stuck on “one more feature.”

→ “Users will expect a dashboard.”

→ “We need custom onboarding.”

→ “What if they want dark mode?”

Stop. This is scope creep in disguise.

Use the 3-Tier Feature Filter:

🔴 MUST HAVE

→ The MVP literally breaks without it

→ Solves the core job-to-be-done

→ Example: “User signs up → uploads file → gets result”

🟡 SHOULD HAVE

→ Useful, but can be manual or faked for now

→ Example: “Automated receipts” → Do it manually for first 10 users

NICE TO HAVE

→ V2 material. Cut it. Today.

→ Example: “Custom themes, referral program, AI suggestions”

📋 Try this in 10 minutes:

  1. List every feature you’re debating

  2. Tag each one: 🔴, 🟡, or ⚪

  3. Keep ONLY the 🔴 items for launch

  4. Move 🟡 to “Phase 2” and ⚪ to “Icebox”

💡 Why this works:

• Forces ruthless prioritization

• Gets you to real users faster

• Turns assumptions into actual feedback

• Saves weeks of wasted dev time

📘 GK FoundersClub members:

This exact filter lives on Page 12 of your 100 Days Playbook (MVP Spec Sheet). Use it. Ship it. Iterate.

🤝 Challenge:

What’s ONE “nice to have” feature you’re tempted to build — but now you’re cutting?

Drop it below 👇

Let’s normalize launching lean. 🚀

It needs to work.

‎From earning $200/month as a dry cleaner to generating $21,000 this month in my dropshipping store what a difference a year makes.

‎When I started, I had zero experience. I just committed to the process, stayed consistent, and kept my faith. Now that I’ve found a path to financial independence, I want to honor a promise I made to myself: to help others do the same. I’ve noticed a "pay it forward" effect my business grows even more when I help others get their start.

💡 Your Idea Is Not Your Hypothesis

Hey GK Founder 👋

Big difference:

❌ "I'm building an AI tool for coaches"

✅ "I believe solo coaches lose 5+ hours/week chasing unpaid invoices, and they'd pay $29/mo to automate polite follow-ups"

See the shift?

The Founder's Hypothesis Formula:

"I believe that [specific person] struggles with [specific problem] when they try to [job to be done]. Today they solve it by [current solution]. I think there's a better way to [outcome], and they would pay [price] for it

📋 Try it now (5 minutes):

  1. Write your hypothesis using the exact formula above

  2. Share it with 3 people who will give honest feedback (not your mom 😉)

  3. List your top 3 assumptions baked into it

  4. Plan how you'll test #1 this week

💡 Why this matters:

→ A clear hypothesis = focused validation

→ Vague ideas = wasted months building the wrong thing

→ Testing assumptions = de-risking your startup before you code

🔁 Make it a habit:

• Revisit your hypothesis every 15 days

• Update it based on customer conversations

• Pivot fast if the data says so

📘 GK FoundersClub members:

This exact template is on Page 3 of your 100 Days Playbook.

Use it. Test it. Iterate.

🤝 Challenge:

Drop your hypothesis below 👇

One sentence. No fluff.

We'll help you stress-test it.

Your idea deserves to be real.

📥 The Founder's Feedback Filter: Stop Building What People Ask For

Hey GK Founder 👋

User emails. Feature requests. "You should add..."

It feels productive to say yes.

But building everything = building nothing.

Use this 3-step filter before you touch a single line of code:

1️⃣ Is this a PAIN or a PREFERENCE?

→ Pain = "This breaks my workflow" / "I'm losing time/money because of this"

→ Preference = "It would be nice if..." / "Have you considered..."

✅ Build for pain. Note preferences for later.

2️⃣ Do 3+ users say the EXACT same thing?

→ 1 request = coincidence

→ 2 requests = pattern forming

→ 3+ requests = signal worth testing

✅ Wait for the pattern. Don't react to outliers.

3️⃣ Does this align with my TOP 3 this quarter?

→ If yes → Add to roadmap

→ If no → Save to "Icebox" (review in 90 days)

✅ Protect your focus. A "no" today is a "yes" to your vision tomorrow.

💡 Why this works:

• Stops scope creep before it starts

• Turns emotional reactions into strategic decisions

• Keeps your MVP lean and your roadmap intentional

📋 Try it this week:

  1. Open your feedback inbox / notes / DMs

  2. Tag each request: Pain / Preference

  3. Group duplicates. Keep only the ones with 3+ votes

  4. Match against your quarterly priorities. Icebox the rest.

GK FoundersClub members:

This exact filter lives in Phase 2 of your 100 Days Playbook + Page 3 of your Weekly Review. Use it. Protect your build time. 🛡️

What's ONE feature request you've been tempted to build — but now you're going to icebox?

Drop it below. Let's normalize saying "not yet." 👇

Hey GK Founder 👋

Let's get real for a second.

No "hustle harder" advice.

No "crush your goals" motivation.

Just an honest pulse check.

🗳️ POLL: What's your energy level right now?

Here's the truth:

→ If you picked A: Celebrate it. You earned this.

→ If you picked D: Pause. Breathe. Check Page 4 of your Weekly Review.

💡 Quick reset (60 seconds):

  1. Close your eyes

  2. Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4

🏆 The Weekly Win-Win: Celebrate + Plan = Momentum

Hey GK Founder 👋

Quick question:

When was the last time you actually celebrated a win?

Not "I'll celebrate when we hit $10k MRR."

Not "I'll celebrate when we launch."

But today. This week. Right now.

Here's the truth:

→ Celebration fuels motivation

→ Reflection builds wisdom

→ Planning creates clarity

Do all three = unstoppable momentum.

📋 The 10-Minute Win-Win Ritual:

(Do this every Friday or Sunday)

1️⃣ NAME 3 WINS (big or small)

[ ] ____________________

[ ] ____________________

[ ] ____________________

→ Say them out loud. Feel them.

2️⃣ EXTRACT 1 LESSON

"What worked that I can repeat?"

→ ______________________________

3️⃣ SET 1 INTENTION FOR NEXT WEEK

"If I only do ONE thing, what moves the needle?"

→ ______________________________

💡 Why this works:

✅ Wins build confidence (you're making progress)

✅ Lessons prevent repeat mistakes (you're getting smarter)

✅ One clear intention cuts through overwhelm (you know what to do)

🔁 Make it a habit:

• Same time every week (Friday 4 PM or Sunday 10 AM)

• Same place (your desk, a café, your notes app)

• Same 10 minutes (no more, no less)

📥 GK FoundersClub members:

This exact ritual is built into Pages 2 + 3 of your Weekly Founder Review.

"Look Back" → "Look Forward" → Momentum.

🤝 Challenge:

Drop ONE win from this week below 👇

Big, small, messy, perfect — it all counts.

Let's fill this thread with progress. 🙌

You're not behind.

You're building.

Keep going. 💙

🧠 Decision Fatigue Is Killing Your Momentum

Hey GK Founder 👋

Ever notice:

→ You make great decisions at 9 AM

→ But by 5 PM, even "what's for dinner" feels hard?

That's decision fatigue.

And it's silently sabotaging your startup.

✨ The Founder's Decision Filter:

Before making ANY choice today, ask:

1️⃣ Is this reversible?

→ If YES: Decide fast. Learn as you go.

→ If NO: Pause. Get input. Think deeper.

2️⃣ Does this align with my Top 3 this week?

→ If YES: Prioritize it.

→ If NO: Delegate, delay, or delete.

3️⃣ What's the cost of waiting 24 hours?

→ If low: Sleep on it. Clarity comes with rest.

→ If high: Decide now with the info you have.

💡 Try this today:

→ Batch small decisions (meals, outfits, tools) → automate them

→ Save mental energy for big, irreversible calls

→ Notice how much lighter your brain feels

📋 GK FoundersClub members:

This filter lives on Page 3 of your Weekly Review.

"Top 3 Priorities" + "Stop/Delegate/Automate" = your decision compass.

🔁 Make it a habit:

• Morning: Review your Top 3 → let them guide choices

• Midday: Quick filter check before saying "yes"

• Evening: Reflect — which decisions drained you? Why?

🤝 Challenge:

What's ONE decision you're putting off right now?

Drop it below 👇

Let's help you apply the filter and move forward.

Your brain is your startup's most valuable asset.

Protect its energy. Decide with intention. 💙

🎯 The Founder's Daily 3: Your Secret Weapon for Focus

Hey GK Founder 👋

Your to-do list is probably too long.

Your calendar is probably too full.

Your brain is probably too tired.

Here's the fix → The Daily 3.

Every morning, ask:

"If I only accomplish 3 things today, what would make this day a win?"

Write them down.

Do them first.

Ignore the rest until they're done.

💡 Why this works:

✅ Forces ruthless prioritization

✅ Creates momentum through quick wins

✅ Reduces decision fatigue all day

✅ Makes progress visible (not just busy)

📋 Try it today:

  1. Grab a note (paper or phone)

  2. Write your Daily 3 before checking email

  3. Block time for #1 first thing

  4. Celebrate when all 3 are done 🎉

🔁 Make it a habit:

• Sunday: Review your Weekly Founder Review → extract your Weekly 3

• Each morning: Pull 1-3 from your Weekly 3 → become your Daily 3

• Each evening: Check them off → feel the progress

🛡️ Pro tip:

If something urgent pops up, ask:

"Does this replace one of my Daily 3?"

If yes → swap intentionally.

If no → schedule it for later.

🤝 GK FoundersClub challenge:

Drop your Daily 3 below 👇

We'll cheer you on. Tag a founder who needs this focus.

Small focus compounds into big results.

Start with 3. Win the day. 💙

🔋 Founder Energy Audit: Are You Running on Empty?

Hey GK Founder 👋

You track revenue.

You track users.

You track growth.

But are you tracking YOU?

Your startup runs on one engine: You.

If you're drained, everything slows down.

Try this 2-minute Energy Audit (from our Weekly Founder Review):

⚡ RATE YOURSELF (1–10)

→ Physical: Sleep, movement, nutrition: ___/10

→ Mental: Clarity, focus, decisions: ___/10

→ Emotional: Stress, relationships, morale: ___/10

🌱 WHAT FUELED YOU THIS WEEK?

(What gave you energy, momentum, or joy?)

→ ______________________________

🌧️ WHAT DRAINED YOU?

(What sapped your focus or confidence?)

→ ______________________________

🛡️ ONE BOUNDARY TO SET

What will you protect or say "no" to next week?

→ [ ] I commit to: ______________________________

💡 Why this matters:

✅ Burnout doesn't happen overnight — it builds silently

✅ Naming drains = power to change them

✅ Protecting energy = protecting your startup's future

🧘 Quick reset (do this NOW):

  1. Pause. Breathe in 4 sec → hold 4 → out 4 → hold 4

  2. Drink one full glass of water 💧

  3. Write ONE thing you're grateful for today

🤝 GK FoundersClub challenge:

Drop your lowest energy score below 👇

(Physical / Mental / Emotional)
