The 3 Pages That Actually Make Small Businesses Money
Most small business websites have 10+ pages. But only 3 actually drive revenue. Here's what I've learned writing copy for dozens of them:
1. Your Homepage (above the fold)
You have about 4 seconds. If your headline doesn't clearly say what you do and who it's for, visitors bounce. Stop being clever — be clear. "We help [specific person] get [specific result]" beats a vague tagline every time.
2. Your Services/Product Page
This is where most businesses lose money. They list features instead of outcomes. Nobody cares that you have "20 years of experience." They care that you can solve their problem by Friday.
3. Your About Page
Surprisingly, this is often the second-most visited page. People buy from people. Tell your story, but make it about the customer — why you started, what you noticed they struggle with, and how you fix it.
Everything else is noise until these 3 pages convert.
If your website copy isn't bringing in leads, it's not a traffic problem — it's a words problem. I write conversion-focused copy for small businesses every day. Happy to take a look at yours.
