Here are 5 I actually started using daily — and why they stuck:

1. Cursor — AI-native code editor. Not just autocomplete. It understands your entire codebase and can refactor across files. If you're still using vanilla VS Code for everything, you're leaving speed on the table.

2. Warp — Terminal that doesn't feel like it's from 1985. Block-based output, AI command search, shareable workflows. Once you use it, going back to iTerm feels painful.

3. Linear — Project management for people who hate project management. Keyboard-first, fast as hell, and the GitHub integration is seamless. Jira refugees, this is your promised land.

4. Excalidraw — Whiteboard tool that looks hand-drawn. Perfect for system design, architecture diagrams, or just thinking through a problem visually. It's free and works in the browser.

5. Raycast — Spotlight replacement on steroids. Clipboard history, snippets, window management, and extensions for literally everything. It replaced 3 separate apps for me.

The pattern? Each one removes friction from something I do 50+ times a day. That compounds.
