Why most guys stall on strength for years (and it's not what you think)
Spent the last few years coaching men on strength and muscle, and the #1 reason guys plateau isn't genetics, isn't their program, and isn't even effort.
It's that nobody is checking on them.
Most lifters follow a solid enough program for 2-3 weeks, life gets busy, a rep gets skipped, then a session, then a week — and there's no friction to stop the slide because no one notices. Compare that to guys training for a powerlifting meet or a physique show: they rarely miss, because someone is watching the numbers.
The fix isn't a better program. It's accountability structured into the process:
Log every session somewhere someone else can see it
Set a non-negotiable minimum (e.g. 3 sessions/week, no matter what) instead of an ideal you'll abandon under stress
Get your lifts checked by someone who lifts more than you — form breakdown is invisible to you in the mirror
Have a check-in point weekly, even a 2-minute one
That's the entire model behind what I run at Hardworking Academy — a community for men serious about strength and muscle who want real programming plus a team that actually notices when you go quiet. If that's you, come train with us.
