The 3 biggest nutrition mistakes I see expecting moms make

After working with dozens of pregnant women on their nutrition, the same three mistakes keep coming up.

1. Eating for two (literally)

You only need about 300 extra calories/day in the 2nd trimester and 450 in the 3rd. Most women overshoot this by a lot, which leads to unnecessary discomfort and harder recovery postpartum.

2. Cutting out all exercise

Unless your doctor says otherwise, movement is one of the best things you can do. Walking, prenatal yoga, light strength training — it helps with energy, sleep, and even labor prep.

3. Ignoring micronutrients

Folate, iron, calcium, omega-3s — these matter way more than macros during pregnancy. A good prenatal vitamin helps, but food sources make a huge difference.

I built Her Prenatal Plan to solve all three — trimester-specific nutrition guides with safe workout routines so you don't have to guess. Check it out if you want a clear, simple plan.
